Can I use a Professional Photo? |
|
|
|
- The photo I would like to have on my announcement is a
professional picture that I had taken at the mall. Can I use a professional photo?
All of the examples we feature online use regular
snapshots taken with a digital or 35 mm camera
and turn out beautifully. We can use a
professional portrait, but due to copyright laws
we require a written
release from the photographer or photo studio before we can reproduce their image. Buying prints or CD’s does not give you release privileges. You will need to contact the studio and explain that you are
having the photo laser printed onto semi-transparent vellum paper for an invitation or
announcement. They will decide if they
will approve that for release or not. Studios which allow release will
have a form they can fill out and provide for you. It is best to discuss
this with the studio before you have the portraits taken so they can have the
release ready when you pick up your
prints. This will prevent delays in
producing your cards.
